As a newborn and baby photographer in the Guildford and greater Surrey area I had the pleasure of meeting beautiful baby Meera earlier this year for her newborn session, at just a few weeks old.
Meera's mum had chosen a beautiful selection of colours for her photoshoot, mainly blush pinks, soft greys and gorgeous ivory tones which are always popular choices for baby girls.

As with a lot of my newborn photoshoots, this session was booked when Meera's mum was half-way through her second trimester. I always strongly encourage my newborn clients to book in after their 20 week scan to avoid disappointment and ensure I still have some spaces remaining as I tend to book up a few months in advance.
Whilst it is incredible to have such a full diary and to meet so many beautiful newborns, it is equally very difficult turning potential clients away so if you are reading this and looking to book your newborn session with me, please don't leave it too late! I do receive A LOT of last minute enquiries though, so I always aim to leave one or two spaces free each month for those that may not have gotten around to enquiring early. So if your baby has already arrived, please don't hesitate to reach out as I may have some last minute slots become available.
Baby Meera looks so sweet in grey and it is a colour I have started incorporating much more often into my newborn sessions for baby girls.

Are you looking to book a newborn session?
Newborn sessions are best booked for when baby is between 1 to 3 weeks old. This is because they are still all curled up, like how they were in the womb and are still very sleepy. That being said, I am more than happy to book in babies for newborn sessions up to 8 weeks of age.
As a mum myself, I can completely appreciate how it might be difficult to get the time to fit in a newborn photoshoot in those first few weeks, on top of everything else you've got going on! I wouldn't discourage you from considering a newborn session if you've missed that golden window to book. "Older" newborns can sometimes be just as easy to pose as a baby that's only a couple of days old - regardless of your newborns age, we can capture some beautiful images for you and your family to cherish for years to come.
