His mum and dad found me while searching for a Hampshire newborn and baby photography studio and I am so pleased that they booked me to do Joshua's Newborn Session! Their brand new baby boy was just over 3 weeks old when they came by the studio to see me, and he was so good for his newborn session! For this session, we focused on using mainly neutrals, earthy tones and baby blues.

I just LOVE this adorable little brown knitted romper. Anyone who's been to my studio will know that it's stocked with everything you can imagine to suit your personal taste. I have hundreds of items including handmade bonnets, head bands, outfits, wraps, tiny beds and more. My personal prop closet is at your fingertips and included in your session! For Joshua's session, we went very timeless and simple and used a lot of neutrals and earthy tones. Because we were so close to Christmas, we decided to also include a festive setup - incorporating pine leaves, red berries and pinecones.

My newborn sessions are almost always booked in advance based on your due date. I always advise booking after you've had your 20 week scan, to ensure availability as I only book in a set amount of newborns per month. Sometimes my schedule is too busy to fit people in last minute so its always a good idea to book in advance!

Are you looking to book a Newborn Session?
Newborn sessions are best booked for when baby is between 1 to 2 weeks old. This is because they are still all curled up, like how they were in the womb and are still very sleepy. That being said, I am more than happy to book in babies for newborn sessions up to 8 weeks of age.
As a mum myself, I can completely appreciate how it might be difficult to get the time to fit in a newborn photoshoot in those first few weeks, on top of everything else you've got going on! I wouldn't discourage you from considering a newborn session if you've missed that golden window to book. "Older" newborns can sometimes be just as easy to pose as a baby that's only a couple of days old - regardless of your newborns age, we can capture some beautiful images for you and your family to cherish for years to come.
If you're interested in booking your newborn session with me, I suggest getting in touch no later than after your 20 week scan. If your baby is already here, you're more than welcome to get in touch - I always leave a few spaces free every month for last minute bookings.
