This little cutie came by the studio for her Newborn Mini session last month. My Newborn Mini sessions are short and sweet 1 hour long sessions but are still fully inclusive, just like my full length newborn sessions! I love that I am now in a position to offer these budget friendly sessions to my lovely clients - they have been super popular and I've had such positive feedback from everyone that has booked in! Clara fell asleep towards the end of her session so we managed to capture some adorable sleepy shots, as well as some with her eyes wide open! I always aim to capture a good mix of both, for a full and varied gallery.
Don't you just want to squish those gorgeous chubby cheeks!

I always advise my clients to bring their babies into the studio for when they are between 7-21 days old. This allows me to capture those cute, curly poses that all parents love. Baby Clara was 10 days old for her session, which is the perfect time for a posed newborn session!

I love how we captured such a lovely mix of wide awake and sleepy photos. Clara has the most beautiful eyes!

Oh, how I love those windy newborn smiles!
I always include an all-white setup as part of my newborn sessions - for Clara's session I really wanted to add a bit of contrast to the white swaddle wrap with the dark wooden floor. I also love it when parents request more unusual colours for girls - greens, blues and greys are sometimes considered more "boyish" colours, but you can still add a touch of femininity with a dainty headband or a beautiful outfit, despite not going with the more stereotypical girly colours!
And last but not least, cuddles with bunny ♡

Are you looking to book a newborn session?
Newborn sessions are best booked for when baby is between 1 to 2 weeks old. This is because they are still all curled up, like how they were in the womb and are still very sleepy. That being said, I am more than happy to book in babies for newborn sessions up to 8 weeks of age.
As a mum myself, I can completely appreciate how it might be difficult to get the time to fit in a newborn photoshoot in those first few weeks, on top of everything else you've got going on! I wouldn't discourage you from considering a newborn session if you've missed that golden window to book. "Older" newborns can sometimes be just as easy to pose as a baby that's only a couple of days old - regardless of your newborns age, we can capture some beautiful images for you and your family to cherish for years to come.
If you're interested in booking your newborn session with me, I suggest getting in touch no later than after your 20 week scan. If your baby is already here, you're more than welcome to get in touch - I always leave a few spaces free every month for last minute bookings.
