I'm very excited to be able to share a little sneak peek into Margot's beautiful newborn gallery. This beautiful little lady was a real delight to have in the studio, at just 13 days new she was the perfect age for a newborn session. At this age, babies are usually still very sleepy and all curled up, which makes them much easier to pose. They also tend to enjoy being wrapped up a lot more than older babies, which means it makes it more likely to capture that perfect mix of swaddled and beanbag shots.
Don't you just want to squish those gorgeous chubby cheeks!

I always advise my clients to bring their babies into the studio for when they are between 7-21 days old. This allows me to capture those cute, curly poses that all parents love.

I love how we captured such a lovely mix of wide awake and sleepy photos. I absolutely adore this bright pink that Margot's parents chose for this setup - this was one of the colours that was incorporated into their wedding, which makes it even more special!

I am so pleased with how this gorgeous earthy toned setup turned out. I suggested to use green for Margot's session and her parents loved the outcome!
As much as I love pink for baby girls, I also love incorporating some slightly more non-traditional colours for girls - greens, blues and greys are sometimes considered more boyish colours, but you can still add a touch of femininity with a dainty headband or a beautiful outfit, despite not going with the more stereotypical girly colours, as Margot demonstrates so well!
This is by far one of my most requested detail shots, incorporating wedding and engagement rings with baby's tiny toes. Absolutely perfect to look back on and remember how tiny their feet once were ♡

Are you looking to book a Newborn Session?
Newborn sessions are best booked for when baby is between 1 to 2 weeks old. This is because they are still all curled up, like how they were in the womb and are still very sleepy. That being said, I am more than happy to book in babies for newborn sessions up to 8 weeks of age.
As a mum myself, I can completely appreciate how it might be difficult to get the time to fit in a newborn photoshoot in those first few weeks, on top of everything else you've got going on! I wouldn't discourage you from considering a newborn session if you've missed that golden window to book. "Older" newborns can sometimes be just as easy to pose as a baby that's only a couple of days old - regardless of your newborns age, we can capture some beautiful images for you and your family to cherish for years to come.
If you're interested in booking your newborn session with me, I suggest getting in touch no later than after your 20 week scan. If your baby is already here, you're more than welcome to get in touch - I always leave a few spaces free every month for last minute bookings.
