Meet Baby Rose! I loved seeing this newborn baby girl for her photo session a few weeks ago. She came to visit me in my boutique garden studio in Aldershot, Hampshire a couple of weeks ago with her lovely mummy, daddy and older brother. I absolutely LOVE every single image in her gallery.

A bespoke newborn photography session is about more than just taking a few photos of your baby when they’re born. They’re about capturing how tiny your little one is now – because they’ll never be that little again.

Our studio has a wide variety of beautiful custom outfits, wraps, headbands, bonnets and props. We have everything you could possibly want or need for a newborn session, there is no need to bring anything along. Most babies LOVE being wrapped! I've never come across a newborn that didn't enjoy being wrapped - it takes them right back to being in the womb, which means they often relax so much that they fall asleep. Once asleep, I can slowly unwrap baby to capture some of those cute and adorable poses on the beanbag (see below!!).
Did you know that I always leave plenty of time to feed and comfort baby as part of my newborn sessions? Nothing is ever rushed, we go at baby's pace and I never force baby into any positions they are not naturally comfortable in. Some babies love being on their tummies, others don't. The poses we go through on the day is dictated entirely by your little one! My sessions are ALWAYS baby led ♡

Baby Rose was 2 weeks old for her newborn session and was an absolute dream from start to finish - content as they come and so very peaceful. This is exactly why I always encourage parents to bring their babies in for a newborn session in the first few weeks of baby's life. Rose loved being wrapped up - so much so she even remained in a deep sleep when I unwrapped her and posed her on the beanbag. Are you looking to book a Newborn Session?
Newborn sessions are best booked for when baby is between 1 to 2 weeks old. This is because they are still all curled up, like how they were in the womb and are still very sleepy. That being said, I am more than happy to book in babies for newborn sessions up to 8 weeks of age.
As a mum myself, I can completely appreciate how it might be difficult to get the time to fit in a newborn photoshoot in those first few weeks, on top of everything else you've got going on! I wouldn't discourage you from considering a newborn session if you've missed that golden window to book. "Older" newborns can sometimes be just as easy to pose as a baby that's only a couple of days old - regardless of your newborns age, we can capture some beautiful images for you and your family to cherish for years to come.
If you're interested in booking your newborn session with me, I suggest getting in touch no later than after your 20 week scan. If your baby is already here, you're more than welcome to get in touch - I always leave a few spaces free every month for last minute bookings.
