Hello world, meet baby Addiena ♡ I loved meeting this beautiful little girl for her newborn photo session last year. Addiena's parents had booked my Bump to Baby package and decided on an outdoor maternity session at Frensham Little Pond. I have a soft spot for sunset sessions and I'm so glad we had the perfect weather conditions for the shoot! Visit this blog post to see a few of my favourite images from their outdoor maternity session. So I was of course super excited to finally meet their brand new baby girl! Addiena was absolutely adorable and a total sweetheart. She was a curious little dot and didn't want to miss out on a thing, so naturally she wasn't very interested in sleeping! This is sometimes the case with slightly older newborns, as they aren't quite as sleepy as a baby only a few weeks new. But she decided to have a little cat nap right towards the end of her session so we ended up capturing a few sleepy photos too.

Her parents had chosen pastel pink as one of their colour schemes, which is a very popular choice for newborn girl sessions. They chose this lovely white lace romper from my studio wardrobe and this beautiful floral headband to match. She looks just perfect in pink!
Being able to document this precious, fleeting time for my clients is such an honour that I truly cherish with each new baby I work with. The first few months with a newborn can be crazy - the days turn into weeks and before you know it, your tiny, squishy newborn isn't so tiny anymore!

Sometimes all we have left to help us remember those first days are the photos we take. This is why I know how important my job is when working with new families. Are you looking to book a Newborn Session?
Newborn sessions are best booked for when baby is between 1 to 2 weeks old. This is because they are still all curled up, like how they were in the womb and are still very sleepy. That being said, I am more than happy to book in babies for newborn sessions up to 8 weeks of age.
As a mum myself, I can completely appreciate how it might be difficult to get the time to fit in a newborn photoshoot in those first few weeks, on top of everything else you've got going on! I wouldn't discourage you from considering a newborn session if you've missed that golden window to book. "Older" newborns can sometimes be just as easy to pose as a baby that's only a couple of days old - regardless of your newborns age, we can capture some beautiful images for you and your family to cherish for years to come.
If you're interested in booking your newborn session with me, I suggest getting in touch no later than after your 20 week scan. If your baby is already here, you're more than welcome to get in touch - I always leave a few spaces free every month for last minute bookings.
