I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet little girl along with her mummy and nanny a few months ago, when they came to visit me in my Aldershot, Hampshire photography studio. Indie-Rose was such a calm and peaceful soul, she was content throughout her session and didn't make a peep!
Pink and white were some of the colours requested by Indie-Rose's mummy. I LOVE this colour combination on newborns and it suits Indie-Rose's delicate skin beautifully.

Safe and snug - all snuggled up and cosy in a swaddle wrap. Indie loved being swaddled. I love how tiny babies look when swaddled up, they grow so fast and there's something so special about being able to look back, remembering just how tiny your little one used to be.
Baby Indie was just over 2 weeks old when she came to see me for her Newborn Mini Session. This is the absolute perfect time to come in for a newborn session, as baby is still very sleepy and all curled up, which makes them easier to pose and makes it more likely to achieve those classic, curled up newborn photos.
Beautiful baby girl in ivory. Her mummy had requested neutral colours along with different tones of pinks. I loved preparing for this session and picking out different fabrics and textures to compliment each other. Indie looks stunning in every single colour and setup I arranged for her on the day, it was so difficult for me to narrow down the images to use for this blog! And another favourite, I just love this shot of Baby Indie all curled up in this adorable little romper. This is just one of many outfits I have available in my studio wardrobe for clients to use throughout their newborn sessions. My photography studio in Aldershot, Hampshire is full of beautiful handmade outfits in a variety of different styles and beautiful bespoke props - I am a self confessed prop-a-holic, but I want to be able to provide parents with exactly the style and feel they're after.
Whenever I can, I love getting their cute little hands out of the swaddle. This isn't always possible, especially if baby is awake as they tend to want to put their hands straight in their mouth! But Indie was such a sleepy little girl, I was able to have her little hands out for the majority of the session.
This image incorporates one of my most requested props - my lovely pastel macramé rainbow! The rainbow has quickly become a symbol of hope during the Covid-19 pandemic, which makes it a very fitting prop to incorporate into newborn sessions for babies born during the pandemic. Babies born after an angel baby are also known as rainbow babies, so it can be a beautiful and very symbolic item to include in your session.

Are you looking to book a newborn session?
Newborn sessions are best booked for when baby is between 1 to 3 weeks old. This is because they are still all curled up, like how they were in the womb and are still very sleepy. That being said, I am more than happy to book in babies for newborn sessions up to 8 weeks of age.
As a mum myself, I can completely appreciate how it might be difficult to get the time to fit in a newborn photoshoot in those first few weeks, on top of everything else you've got going on! I wouldn't discourage you from considering a newborn session if you've missed that golden window to book. "Older" newborns can sometimes be just as easy to pose as a baby that's only a couple of days old - regardless of your newborns age, we can capture some beautiful images for you and your family to cherish for years to come.
If you're interested in booking your newborn session with me, I suggest getting in touch no later than after your 20 week scan. If your baby is already here, you're more than welcome to get in touch - I always leave a few spaces free every month for last minute bookings.
