Meet the most adorable baby boy - Baby Jensen. He's got the cutest little face and the most gorgeous cupids bow lips, he's just perfection! Little Baby Jensen was just over a week old when he came to see me for his studio newborn session in my boutique photography studio in Aldershot, Hampshire. His mummy had gotten in touch well before her due date, which is something I highly recommend doing for newborn sessions in particular, as I tend to book up months in advance. It always upsets me to have to turn clients away, so for that reason I always aim to leave spaces available for last minute bookings - but of course there is no guarantee that I will have any availability, especially during the busier Summer months.

I always, always do an all white setup for my newborn sessions. There's something about a newborn in white that just gets me, and I love the simplicity of these shots.
Family shots are always my favourite. This little boy is so loved ♡
And below is my favourite photo of Baby Jensen and his beautiful mummy. I managed to capture the brief moment he opened his eyes and looked straight into the camera! Simply adorable.
Did you know that I always leave plenty of time to include family shots as part of my newborn sessions? For family shots I suggest wearing neutral tones as seen in the images above.
One of the colours Jensen's mummy had requested to be included in his newborn session was navy - I love navy and I had the perfect outfit that I knew she'd absolutely love! This sweet little sleepy-cap and shorts set is gorgeous and suited Jensen perfectly. And I love that we got to include Mummy and Daddy's hands as part of this shot.
This is just one of many outfits I have available in my studio wardrobe, for clients to use throughout their newborn sessions. My boutique photography studio in Aldershot, Hampshire is full of beautiful handmade outfits in a variety of different styles and beautiful bespoke props - I am a self confessed prop-a-holic, but I want to be able to provide parents with exactly the style and feel they're after.
Isn't this just the cutest Easter outfit? I've got lots of holiday themed props in my studio wardrobe, and up to Easter my most popular props have got to be my cute bunny ear bonnets. Baby Jensen has got to be the cutest bunny I've seen in a while!
Whenever I can, I love getting their cute little hands out of the wrap. This isn't always possible, especially if baby is awake as they tend to want to put their hands straight in their mouth! But Baby Jensen was such a sleepy little boy, I was able to have his little hands out for the majority of the session.
Another colour Jensen's mummy really wanted to include was brown - I coupled it with this beautiful turquoise flokati rug and I had the perfect little bonnet to go with it. I love this set-up ♡
And will you look at that little pout! So sweet. I really enjoyed meeting Baby Jensen and his lovely mummy and daddy! Cannot wait to see him again in a few months time for his Little Sitter session.
Are you looking to book a newborn session?
Newborn sessions are best booked for when baby is between 1 to 3 weeks old. This is because they are still all curled up, like how they were in the womb and are still very sleepy. That being said, I am more than happy to book in babies for newborn sessions up to 8 weeks of age.
As a mum myself, I can completely appreciate how it might be difficult to get the time to fit in a newborn photoshoot in those first few weeks, on top of everything else you've got going on! I wouldn't discourage you from considering a newborn session if you've missed that golden window to book. "Older" newborns can sometimes be just as easy to pose as a baby that's only a couple of days old - regardless of your newborns age, we can capture some beautiful images for you and your family to cherish for years to come.
If you're interested in booking your newborn session with me, I suggest getting in touch no later than after your 20 week scan. If your baby is already here, you're more than welcome to get in touch - I always leave a few spaces free every month for last minute bookings.
