Meet beautiful Baby Eleanor, the most gorgeous little girl with the most amazing head of hair! After a long string of baby boys, I was so excited to be able to photograph sweet little baby Eleanor for her newborn session. I had some stunning new headbands and wraps that I was dying to be able to use, and I so was excited about featuring a bit of green!

Isn't this just the cutest Easter set-up? I've got lots of holiday themed props in my studio wardrobe, and up to Easter my most popular props have got to be my cute bunny ear bonnets. But I really didn't want to use any bonnets for Baby Eleanor, because I thought it would be a shame to hide all of that gorgeous hair!

Did you know that I always leave plenty of time to include family and parent shots as part of my newborn sessions? For my family shots I suggest wearing neutral tones in similar tones.

Her mummy and I had a chat about colour schemes for this session and one of the first things I quickly picked up from our conversation was that she didn't want an overly girly session. As much as I love setting up a pink, girly session, I also love using blues and greens for girls. I had just received these lovely wraps and was really hoping that her parents would approve - and thankfully they loved them as much as I did!
This floral wreath is an absolute favourite of mine - I knew it would fit perfectly with this rustic setup and Baby Eleanor models it perfectly.
The green tones really compliment her beautiful hair colour - Eleanor was just the most perfect little model I could have hoped for. For nearly our whole session, she was quiet, content and sleepy. Whether wrapped up snugly in my brown crate or curled up on a fluffy rug, she was just the sweetest little girl you could imagine!

Hands up! I am all for the natural poses that babies are most comfortable in, and this is one that babies quite often end up in all on their own - especially after being "let out" of their swaddle!
I always, always do an all white setup for my newborn sessions. There's something about a newborn in white that just gets me, and I love the simplicity of these shots.
Eleanor's mummy and daddy had brought an adorable handmade elephant teddy along for her to snuggle during her session.

Are you looking to book a newborn session?
Newborn sessions are best booked for when baby is between 1 to 2 weeks old. This is because they are still all curled up, like how they were in the womb and are still very sleepy. That being said, I am more than happy to book in babies for newborn sessions up to 8 weeks of age.
As a mum myself, I can completely appreciate how it might be difficult to get the time to fit in a newborn photoshoot in those first few weeks, on top of everything else you've got going on! I wouldn't discourage you from considering a newborn session if you've missed that golden window to book. "Older" newborns can sometimes be just as easy to pose as a baby that's only a couple of days old - regardless of your newborns age, we can capture some beautiful images for you and your family to cherish for years to come.
If you're interested in booking your newborn session with me, I suggest getting in touch no later than after your 20 week scan. If your baby is already here, you're more than welcome to get in touch - I always leave a few spaces free every month for last minute bookings.
