Meet Riley and Levi! This was the second time I got to meet these adorable boys - the last time I saw them, they had come to my studio in Aldershot, Hampshire for their Little Sitter session. Back then, they were confident sitters but hadn't quite mastered crawling - but a lot had changed in the few months since I last saw them! They were little speedy monkeys and it is evident that it wont be long before these little balls of energy are going to be taking their very first steps!
JUNGLE THEMED CAKE SMASH & SPLASH
Their mummy had set her heart on a Jungle themed Cake Smash session - I had bought lots of props specifically for this session (even had a few things custom made!). I'm so excited to be able to add this to my list of themed Cake Smash & Splash sessions available for my clients to choose from!

Part 1 - The Portrait Session
Upon arrival, the boys were dressed in a lovely outfit that their mummy and daddy had chosen just for the occasion! I always start out the session by capturing a few shots of the little ones in a nice outfit, either chosen from the studio wardrobe or brought along from home. For this session, his mummy and daddy had brought an outfit from home but also really wanted to use one of my handmade studio outfits once they saw it hanging up in the studio. Aren't these matching Jungle Book themed rompers just gorgeous? ♡
At this age it's all about engaging them with songs, games and play during the session. The most important thing to me is that you and your little ones have a great time in my studio, I want the experience to be fun and memorable - and of course, that means you'll get some stunning images to take home, capturing those authentic smiles and giggles we all love!
Part 2 - The Cake Smash!
I absolutely fell in love with this Jungle themed setup - it all just came together so nicely and I'm so pleased with the final outcome of this Jungle Themed Cake Smash setup!
When we put the cake down in front of them, they sat there - stunned for a minute. As if to say, "hang on, is that really all for me?". After getting the nod of approval from mummy and daddy, they hesitantly poked the cake and had a taste. Riley was definitely more keen on getting messy, whereas Levi wasn't too sure! But I think it's safe to say they both LOVED their cakes!
One of my favourite parts of shooting a Cake Smash Session is seeing their reaction to having their cake placed in front of them - it can vary from disbelief to pure and utter joy! It's very likely the first time in their life that they've had a whole cake put in front of them to do with what they wish, so you never quite know how they're going to react!
This was such a fun session, from start to finish! Are you looking to book a cake smash session for your little one?
My cake smash & splash sessions start with capturing a few shots of your little one in an outfit of your choice (either one picked out of my studio wardrobe or one you've brought yourself). Then we get your little one changed into their cake smash outfit and let them have some fun getting stuck into their cake! Some children are initially not that keen on getting messy and may need a bit of gentle encouragement, others take to it straight away and relish the opportunity to get messy! The final part of the session is a nice, warm bath in my washtub with lots of bubbles.
A Cake Smash & Splash is a fun-packed session and a unique way to commemorate a birthday, whether that be a 1st, 2nd or 3rd birthday!
