Happy 1st Birthday to adorable baby Sterling! He was an absolute joy to photograph and he thoroughly enjoyed both his cake and his bubble bath. His gorgeous cake was topped with delicious fresh berries and these went down a treat! I could have happily photographed him all day, he was such a happy and smiley little boy and his gallery came out absolutely beautifully. That smile! Ahh this little boy is going to melt some hearts! Sterling came to see me for his 1st Birthday Cake Smash session last month. His mum and I had discussed a few ideas in regards to the theme of his session and she loved the idea of a very natural woodland themed setup, featuring earthy tones with lots of greenery. This setup is probably one of my absolute favourites from this year, I absolutely LOVE how everything came together on the day! I have a large Cake Smash wardrobe containing beautiful, handmade outfits in many different styles, colours and sizes. But I also welcome outfits brought from home and Sterling's mum had brought along this super cute personalised outfit for him, which I feel really adds that special touch.
He absolutely loved posing for the camera and I loved capturing all of his sweet expressions!

Not all babies are super keen on cake - sometimes they dive in head first, whereas others are less impressed and would rather play with the balloons on the set!
This cake was created with a baker who makes many of the cakes for my Cake Smash & Splash sessions - Sterling's mum had requested fresh fruits and greenery for his cake and I absolutely love the final look of the cake! Sterling clearly approved as well, as he couldn't get enough of the strawberries and blueberries!

All of my Cake Smash & Splash sessions finish with a fun bubble bath in my adorable miniature roll top bath - these photos are always parent favourites and the babies are always really excited to play in the warm water with all of the bubbles and rubber ducks!
Mum was sat just out of shot, blowing bubbles which adds a really lovely effect to these bath images. Sterling loved popping the bubbles and he really had the best time!
It was such a pleasure to meet Sterling and his parents, thank you so much for choosing me as your Cake Smash photographer!
Are you looking to book a cake smash session for your little one?
My cake smash & splash sessions start with capturing a few shots of your little one in an outfit of your choice (either one picked out of my studio wardrobe or one you've brought yourself). Then we get your little one changed into their cake smash outfit and let them have some fun getting stuck into their cake! Some children are initially not that keen on getting messy and may need a bit of gentle encouragement, others take to it straight away and relish the opportunity to get messy! The final part of the session is a nice, warm bath in my washtub with lots of bubbles.
A Cake Smash & Splash is a fun-packed session and a unique way to commemorate a birthday, whether that be a 1st, 2nd or 3rd birthday!
