This is from a session I've not yet had a chance to share on my blog yet - from a very busy day of back-to-back newborn shoots. I was so looking forward to this session where I got to meet not one but two handsome little boys! Hayden and Ellis were just over 3 weeks old when they came to see me for their newborn session in my studio in Aldershot, Hampshire. Working with twins is always slightly more of a challenge compared to singletons, but these two were honestly so good to me! They were some of the most content babies I've worked with this year. They even decided to have a nap at the same time!
Keep scrolling to see some of my favourite photos from Hayden and Ellis' newborn session.
We decided it would be nice to keep Hayden and Ellis in their own individual colours for the shoot, mainly to give them a bit of individuality.
These little guys were just so content! Couldn't have asked for a better pair of models.
Did you know that I always leave plenty of time to include family and parent shots as part of my newborn sessions? For my family shots I suggest wearing neutral tones in similar colours.
It was important for their mummy and daddy to have some shots of the boys individually as well but in a similar kind of set-up. White for Ellis ♡
And grey for Hayden ♡
As a professional photographer in Aldershot, Hampshire, I’ve worked with numerous families and hundreds of newborns, including many sets of twins. I wont lie, photographing newborn twins is a challenge! But a challenge I thoroughly enjoy and creating gorgeous memories for my clients is my top priority. I would always recommend that parents schedule a newborn session in the first or second trimester. This alleviates any last-minute stress and avoids scheduling conflicts. Hayden and Ellis' mummy and daddy were well-prepared and got the experience they wanted, resulting in memories that will last a lifetime.
Capturing the boys was a joy and I know that they have years of adventure in front of them.
Are you looking to book a newborn session?
Newborn sessions are best booked for when baby is between 1 to 3 weeks old. This is because they are still all curled up, like how they were in the womb and are still very sleepy. That being said, I am more than happy to book in babies for newborn sessions up to 8 weeks of age.
As a mum myself, I can completely appreciate how it might be difficult to get the time to fit in a newborn photoshoot in those first few weeks, on top of everything else you've got going on! I wouldn't discourage you from considering a newborn session if you've missed that golden window to book. "Older" newborns can sometimes be just as easy to pose as a baby that's only a couple of days old - regardless of your newborns age, we can capture some beautiful images for you and your family to cherish for years to come.
If you're interested in booking your newborn session with me, I suggest getting in touch no later than after your 20 week scan. If your baby is already here, you're more than welcome to get in touch - I always leave a few spaces free every month for last minute bookings.
If you would like to make a booking, please don't hesitate to get in touch either via my contact form here or send me an email at starspeckledphotography@gmail.com and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
